Sum of the filtered entries shown in the table.
Add an expense
Use a valid date and a positive amount. Notes are optional, and the entry saves automatically in your browser after it is added.
Filter and review
Month filtering controls the summary cards, budget progress, and exports. Category filtering narrows the visible list and totals.
Leave month blank to view every saved entry. Search checks descriptions only and ignores case.

Monthly budget
Budget calculations use the month selected in the filter. If no month is selected, the current month is used for the budget panel only.
Summary
Useful for checking whether filters narrowed the data as expected.
Rounded to two decimals using the filtered results only.
Add entries to see the biggest spending bucket.
Export and copy
Exports only include the currently filtered records. If no records match, export and copy actions stay disabled.
How it works
1. Add clean entries
Each expense requires a valid calendar date and a positive amount. The page trims notes, sanitizes text, rounds currency-style values to two decimals, and prevents empty or invalid records.
2. Review by month or category
Use the month filter for a reporting window, then narrow further by category or description. Summary cards update from the visible entries, so totals always match what you see.
3. Export the view you need
CSV works well for spreadsheets, JSON works well for structured backups, and the copy action creates a short text snapshot with counts, totals, and budget status.
